Dubai: Alva’s Vishwa Nudisiri-Virasat 2013, UAE unit was inaugurated at Al Nasr Leisureland here on January 31 by CEO and Managing Director of NMC and UAE Exchange Dr B R Shetty.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr B R Shetty said the inauguration of the UAE unit as well as the holding of the international Alva’s Virasat Nudisiri at Dubai was a dream come true for Dr Mohan Alva who was making pioneering efforts in promoting art and culture.

Dr Mohan Alva also spoke on the objectives of Nudisiri and his ambition to see the Indian cultural splendor scale greater heights.

Sponsors of the event were honored by Dr Alva on the occasion. As many as 80 students from Alva’s institutions presented a spectacular cultural performance that left the audience spell bound. Vilas Nayak, an outstanding artiste painted sketches of yakshagana, Sachin Tendulkar and BR Shetty. The paintings were later auctioned.
