Moodbidri:  The sixth mega job fair “Alva’s Pragathi-2013” was organized at Alva’s College, Moodbidri under the aegis of Alva’s Education Foundation on May 11, Saturday. Several companies from various sectors participated in this job fair inaugurated by Sudhir Shetty, COO Global Operations, UAE Exchange and  Amarnath Shetty,  former MLA.

Dr M Mohan Alva, Chairman Alva’s Education Foundation, presided over the function.

Sudhir Shetty in his address said a job seeker in the modern times should not only project his educational merit but also needed the commitment and sincerity to do justice to the job he is offered.

Vivek Alva, Managing trustee, Alva’s Education Foundation said 10,363 students had participated and registered in this job fair on the first day itself. A total of 156 companies had arrived at Vidyagiri campus in order to select candidates and there were more than 7000 openings. He further said  some of the companies that took part in the fair included Axis Bank, Gold Finch,  Titan, Videocon, Fabtech, Aditya Birla group, UAE EXCHANGE, COCO-COLA, 24×7,SUTHERLAND , ITC, Fortis, L&T, Taj Group and  ICICI Bank.

The job fair will continue on Sunday too.
