Moodbidri: Alva’s men and women badminton teams, who represented Dakshina Kannada district, have secured first place in the Mysore division Dasara sports meet held on September 18. Further both these teams will participate in the State level Dasara sports meet.

Alvas men’s team defeated Mysore team in two sets, 29-13, 29-17 in the finals, whereas the women’s team defeated team from Mandya with 29-3, 29-5.

Apart from it, Alva’s Women throw ball team representing DK district defeated team from Udupi district by 25-23 and 25-10. Men’s team from Mysore district defeated Chamarajanagar team by 25-27, 25-18 and 25-14.

Hassan team beat Chikmagalur team b 14-4 and in the women section, Kodagu team won against Mysore team 9-6 in the men’s handball category.
