Surathkal : As part of a State-wide campaign on ‘Ambedkar for Youth and Democracy’ to mark 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr B R Ambedkar, National Law School Ambedkar Study Centre and Govindadasa First Grade College, Surathkal will organise series of programmes in the district at A V Hall of Govindadas First Grade College, Surathkal on September 7 at 10 am.
Addressing reporters, here on Friday, Advisory Committee Member Prof K Phaniraj said, “Dr B R Ambedkar generally is depicted as the leader of Dalits and backward classes. But, he is a social revolutionary. The state-level campaign is an attempt to take the ideas and philosophy of Ambedkar to youth. The eight months, campaign will cover all 30 districts of the state (50 cities).”
“Two resource persons have been selected for each district. They will carry out sessions focusing on his three major works- ‘Annihilation of Caste’, ‘Buddhist Revolution and Counter-Revolution in ancient India’ and ‘States and Minorities’.
The campaign will continue till March and will end with a public meet,” he added.
For Dakshina Kannada lecturer Vasudeva Belle and Dr Ashalatha P have been selected as the resource persons.
