Mangalore : An Elderly man was killed in an accident after the scooter he rode was hit by a truck of Maharashtra registration on National Highway 66 on September 6, Saturday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Jayaprakash (53), a resident of Madooru and was working as a real estate broker.

It is learnt that, Jayaprakash had left home to drop his daughter to a school in Thokkottu in the morning. After dropping her, he went to the market and while he was returning home on his scooter, a truck moving on National Highway 66, hit his vehicle from behind killing him on spot.

A case has been registered at Ullal police station.
