Mangalore: A group of youngsters, as a part of a social service initiative have launched a website called www.smsindia4blood.com with the sole initiative of helping people in need of blood during emergencies.

All they have to do is to register with the website so that someone who can donate blood can contact them immediately.

Anyone who is in need of blood and cannot find a donor has to send a text message smsblood (space) name of the town (space) blood type and send it to 56767500. They will immediately get a reply with the mobile numbers of the willing blood donors in the locality.

Informing this to reporters, Ananth Prabhu said anyone can register and added their organization does not receive any donation. Ananth further said those willing to help the organization can do so by purchasing T-shirts sold online  in collaboration with advaitin.in.
