Hubli : BJP General Secretary H N Ananth Kumar today demanded that Union Home Minister P Chidambaram must resign following the allegations against him in 2G Spectrum scam.
Speaking to reporters here on his way to Koppal in north Karnataka, he said since the Home Minister was facing direct allegations about his involvement in scam, he should pave the way for his questioning by quitting the office. Protocol demanded that he should resign from his position, he said.
As Union Home Minister CBI comes under Mr Chidambaram’s portfolio and none would dare to investigate the case involving the Home Minister, there is no other way for the minister, but step down and ensure impartial investigation, he said.
Referring to his delay in arriving at Koppal to campaign in favour of the party candidate Karadi Sangana, he said that since he was engaged in North India along with BJP national leader Lal Krishna Adavani he could not come to the constituency and there was no other intention for the delay. Moreover, his date for campaign was fixed today by the party High Command, he said.
