Mangaluru : Union Minister for Chemicals & Fertilisers Ananth Kumar inaugurated a seven-day exhibition on various schemes of the government at Hindi Prachar Sabha, at Lalbagh here on Thursday.
After inaugurating ‘Saal Ek Shuruaat Anek’, Ananth Kumar said NDA government is a government of poor. There are many schemes for poor and it is an attempt to reach the schemes of the government to public so that they can utilize it. The exhibition of 80 panels consisting of photos and write-ups in Kannada and English will be held in 200 places across the country. The mobile van with audio and video devices will disseminate achievements of government in more than 20,000 places. The achievement of the government in one year is a record. India has raised to new level in international-level, he said. The government media agencies like Press International Bureau, drama division, All India Radio, Directorate of Field Publicity and Doordarshan also participated. The seven-day exhibition will continue till June 24, from 8 am to 7 pm.
Earlier speaking to media persons, the Minister said that the Central government has agreed to allow Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilisers (MCF), SPIC in Tuticorin of Tamil Nadu and Madras Fertilizers Limited to run the firms with Naphtha. With the government nod to continue the operations of MCF with Naptha, around 5,000 employees of MCF need not feel unstable about their jobs and farmers will continue to get ‘Mangala’ urea.
Meanwhile, Ananth Kumar requested Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to speak to Kerala Chief Minister Ommen Chandy to provide gas from Kochi Petro terminal to MCF. “A decision was taken to run the MCF using gas in 2007 itself, but it has not been implemented. The government is also considering of doubling the capacity of MCF,” he said.
The Centre is ready to open ‘Janoushadhi’ medicals in every district and taluk hospitals. There is provision to open more than 250 centres in Karnataka and the Centre is ready to release Rs 2.50 lakh to each centre. “Though, I have discussing the matter with Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khader from past six months, there is no proper response,” he said.
Members of Ramakrishna Mission, Mata Amritanandamayi Mutt and Bishop House were greeted for cooperating with Swachh Bharat movement.
‘Hejje Gurutu’, a book on the achievements of PM Modi and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel was released. Meanwhile, Ananthkumar and Naleen Kumar were felicitated by MCF workers.
