Subrahamanya : Anti-Naxal Force Chief and IGP Alok Kumar has urged villagers to co-operate with the police and ANF by passing on any information regarding Naxals.
Speaking to reporters after visiting Subrahamanya Temple and also meeting Sri Vidyaprasanna Theertha Swamiji of Subrahamanya Mutt, the ANF chief said intensive combing operations were on in Sullia, Mudigere, Sakleshpur and Belthangady region. The ANF chief was accompanied by his team which was involved in the encounter which eliminated a suspected Naxal.
The ANF chief did not forget to add that the ANF personnel despite all adversities in the tough terrain were doing their best to crack down the Naxal menace. He said Naxals willing to surrender will be rehabilitated by the government.
Alok Kumar also presumed that Naxals who were in hiding in the region might have fled the region sensing danger.
The IGP said the dedicated young brigade of the ANF was its greatest asset.
