Mangalore : The DK District Anganwadi Activists and Helpers’ Association President Jayalakshmi B. R. said that the murderers of 3-year-old Priyanka, must not be allowed free at any cost.
Condemning the black magic incident in city, the members of the association urged the police department and the district administration to take strict action against Madhava Purusha, Kamalaksha Purusha, and Chandrakala, who are allegedly involved in the murder.
She also warned that the members of the association, along with the local people, will stage intense protests if the police fail to conduct an exhaustive investigation into the case.
Mohini, an activist of Chinmaya Anganwady, where Priyanka was studying, said that Kamalaksha was in the habit of observing the kids. She also recalled that he had given a ball to one of the children and had asked the child to come with him, nearly 25 years back.
A local woman called Priya, who lives near Priyanka’s house, has accused the police of irresponsibility and negligence.
She said that she had specially requested the police to enquire Chandrakala, and the cop in charge has asked her if she had any enmity with Chandrakala. She said that the child might have been alive if the cops had searched Kamalaksha’ house immediately.
Priya is not the only neighbor who has accused the police of negligence. Another neighbor also said that the police only visited Kamalaksha’s house to receive prasadam.
