Mangaluru : Taking exception to the reported objectionable statement of Social Welfare Minister H. Anjaneya on private educational institutions, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president G. Parameshwara reprimanded the Minister and asked him to refrain from making such remarks which damage the image of the party.
In a letter to Mr. Anjaneya written on May 19, Dr. Parameshwara said such a statement has damaged the feelings of the majority in the State.
“Many seers, religious leaders and those running educational institutions had called me expressing their anguish over the statement,” Dr. Parameshwara said, and added that private educational institutions have been rendering yeomen service for education in the State.
If exorbitant fees are being collected, or if there is any other kind of exploitation in schools, it can be regulated through law and governmental action, Dr. Parameshwara said.
