Bangalore: Dr. Anna Hazare would launch an indefinite fast by his anti-corruption brigade (ACA) from next year on 01-01-2012, if (and it is a big IF) the people’s Lokpal bill was not passed in the winter session of Lok Sabha (Parliament). The UPA Government has announced Dec 20 for tabling the Bill.
“Our protests begin on Dec 27, he precisely told people through reporters, and “the Jail Bharo programme (andolan) will be from next January 1, 2012” he indicated. Then he let out the cat from his bag, to add, “You know, if they pass the (Lokpal) bill, there won’t be any protests”
Hazare came on Saturday morning here, to hold a Protest March at Swatantra Maidan (Freedom Park) and to take the civil society’s demand for a strong Lokpal forward.
However, there was no mention about state Lokpal by him, which is in deadlock as an issue of prestige, between DVS Gowda’s Government for Justice Bannurmath, and Governor Hans Raj’s vote against him. The tug of war continues.
Hazare let the question of reservations in the Bill, to the Parliament to decide upon, while oozing his confidence over the crucial bill passage, without impediments or short comings.
