Ahmednagara : In a 63rd Republic Day message given to Indian people at large, and people elected representations sitting in parliament at New Delhi in particular, passing laws that are applied to one and all, but hardly concerning/consulting them in a democracy, social reformer annasaheb Hazare in a recorded video message here on Jan 25, has demanded a law to provide financial and decision – making powers to all gram sabhas (rural people’s assembly) in a revolutionary method of decentralization of power, from New Delhi to country’s rural units of voters in a democracy.

He forced the issue by threatening to conduct a new agitation at the Delhi’s Ram-leela

Grounds, if his demand on behalf at the people was not met-by the all-powerful centre under UPA govt, in 2012.

He sarcastically stated that assemblies (state legislatures) and Lok sabha, Mps think that they were above the Gram sabhas, but the truth is that these Gram sabhas were above the elected representative, who cheat them after elections, by usurping voters powers tp them salves.

A new law can ensure logical power flowing back to Gram sabhas in a genuing democracy, he ruled.

He was giving a new direction to Jan Lokpal bill campaign, to ensure that certain radical issues needed only radical solutions, and not patch-up answer.

He called for a people’s referendum commission like CEC used for voting purposes.
