New Delhi: In his Third day of Satygraha leading to an indefinite fast unto death at Jantar Mantar off the Parliament Street in the Indian Capital, seeking teeth to the Jan Lokpal Bill to control national level corruption everywhere, the Gandhian spirit of modern times, Anna Hazare criticises Sharad Pawar (Union minister and ICC chief) as a land-owner in corrupt ways presiding over a group of ministers committee to enquire into all forms of corruption and brought him down as the first target to resign from all GoMs although no letter has been issued by Pawar. At the same time Sharad Yadav, MP from Bihar and Chairman of JD(U) extended his party support to Annasaheb Hazare, who asked all politicians not to meddle in the issue he raised with PM but to keep away from his struggle. People from all parts of North India have risen and supported Hazare’s attempt to stamp out corruption in all forms in India, while Karnataka Lokayukta (Justice NS Hegde) and De3lhi leaders in politics, even PM, have made comments on the haste with which Hazare had begun his task against the Central Govt. that was framing a diluted form of anti-corruption Ombudsman bill for the Centre and the states.
Hazare refused to speak to any GoM Committee as it has no power to take str4ong decisions. Any dialogues (as PM wanted) should take place only with those men who had power to take mighty decisions, Annasaheb declared. 72 year old Gandhian and Magsaysay awardee for social work had lost nearly 2 kgs in 3 days of fasting. He said he could go on fasting for 7 days, so he needed no one to worry over his health. He had taken several blows on his body. Hazare rejected insinuations that he favoured RSS and BJP stands. He had no bank balance, but worked in public for good causes only.
Hazare accused those who ran this country in corrupt ways, while addressing his followers and school students at the fasting site near Jantar Mantar. He attacked Congressmen airing views about his fast by retorting that before they were born, Gandhi had sharpened the weapon of civil disobedience movement. He added that Indian public takes to Satyagraha (a pressing way for Truth) when other roads are shut out (by the Govt.). He welcomed Ex-CM Uma Bharti shooed away from Dharana site by Hazare’s followers.
