Mangalore : A street show intended at creating awareness against the practice of child labour, was held near the KSRTC Bus stand in Mangalore on May 15. Children from Vanashri Residential School, Sagar presented the programme with the co-operation of the Department of Public Instructions, Labour Department and Women and Child Welfare Department.

Children presented cultural programmes dressed up as mythological characters. According to  Manjappa, Founder of Vanashri Residential School, the group has 100 children from various parts of the state  who were on an awareness tour since April 25. The group will present its show at Udupi next. The show will culminate at Sagar on May 21 after presenting programmes at  Honnavara, Siddapura, Shikaripura and Shimoga.
