Kasaragod: Unidentified culprits drawn anti Kannada graffiti on the walls of Government College Kasaragod located at Vidyanagar near Kasaragod town in an incident reported on November 1 when Kannada Rajyotsava celebrated to mark the formation of Karnataka.
The culprits through their graffiti written in Malayalam, asked Kannadigas to move away from Kasaragod and stated Kannadigas are not entitled to stay in Kasaragod as it is the land of Malayalis.
Kannada outfits in Kasaragod condemned derogatory remarks against Kannadigas and urged action against the offenders who are responsible for the act. A few years ago, there were graffiti against Kannada students in Malayalam which asked Kannada students to move away from the college and district.
The graffiti came into light when the staff, students and others arrived at the college on November 1 and found the same near the walls of Kannada department of the college. Kannada students registered their anger against the graffiti and urged action against the writers who were responsible for the act.
Meanwhile, principal of the college reportedly remained silent over the issue and warned Kannada students when they were staged protests before his office to condemn the act.
