Mangaluru :  the CCB Police of Mangaluru has mentioned the name of anchor Anushree name chargesheet,  based on the statements of the accused Kishore Aman Shetty in the case.

It has been gathered that the second accused in the case, Kishore Aman Shetty had during interrogation told that police that Anushree had taken drugs many times along with him and Tharun.

Kishore reportedly told the police that Anushree had purchased drugs and provided them to Tharun when the latter was providing dance training to Anushree in connection with a reality show in 2007-08. He also reportedly told the cops that Anushree used to consume drugs before food.

It may be recalled here that the Mangaluru Police had earlier once interrogated Anushree in connection with the case. However, she was not summoned later. There was even an allegation that Anushree was exerting pressure on the cops through influential politicians in order to drop her name from the case.

Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra Wednesday said there is no question of soft corner towards celebrities involved in a drug case.

“You all know we are in possession of the FSL report. Action will be taken against the guilty. There is no question of a soft corner towards anybody,” he told reporters in Belagavi.

Questioning the Mangaluru police, anti-drugs campaigner Prashant Sampargi said, “The latest exposure by Shetty has confirmed the offence of Anushree. Her name was taken by Shetty in the chargesheet. Despite this, her name has not been included in the chargesheet.”

Sampargi said the police should once again summon Anushree and record her counter-statement to Shetty’s. “The interrogation will reveal the drugs network. From where did she get drugs? Who are the drug peddlers? The police should find out,” he said.

Sampargi also questioned why the police did not include Tarun Raj’s name in the chargesheet filed in the drug case connected to Anushree.

“Tarun is the main accused. He was arrested by the police, Why has he been left scotfree.

At a press conference, Sandalwood film producer Indrajit Lankesh questioned Mangaluru police why they did not do the follicle hair test of Anushree.
