Mangalore : Krishna Mooly, Director of the Janashikshana Trust has infored that applications have been invited from journalists for the Sarojini Naidu Prize for best reporting on ‘Women and Panchayat Raj’ as part of Hunger Project-India.”
Informing this to reporters here on March 30, Saturday, he said the Best write-up based on the theme, ‘Women in Panchayat Raj-bringing education to every child’ and ‘Women in Panchayat Raj-bringing primary health care for all’ will be awarded the prize. Three Journalists from print media who have done outstanding reporting on the above subject in English, Hindi and other Indian languages will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 2 Lakhs.
Applications duly attested by the articles published in a newspaper or magazine from June 16,2012 to June 15,2013 should be sent to the ‘Hunger Project’ office in New Delhi or the State offices by June 15. A short biography, name, address, email and phone number of the applicants should also be mentioned.
The first Sarojini Naidu Award was presented in the year 2001 to promote and encourage sustained reporting in the media on issues of women and their political participation in Panchayath. The applications can be Emailed to india.office@thp.org or can be sent by
