Mangalore: A new wing of ‘Arogya Matha Ashram’ at Neerumarga was inaugurated to mark the silver jubilee celebration on March 17, Saturday.

The solemn Holy Mass was led by Bishop of Mangalore Rev Aloysius Paul D’Souza, while Rev. Sr Teresa Peter, Provincial Superior, Bangalore Province graced the functions and presided over the event.

The Ashram which a home of aged was extended for 20 more middle class aged on nominal terms.

Sisters of the house said that many aged had to go back without getting permission since the lack of space and scarcity of funds for additional rooms for the suffering aged.

The volunteers who had dedicated their lives in serving the aged were felicitated including Sr Teresa Peter, Provincial Superior Bangalore, Bishop Aloysius P D’Souza, Sr Aurea, Superior of the home, Gilbert Pinto and many donors who have donated generously were individually felicitated. Fr.John Vas the Parish Priest of Kelrai and a former Parish Priest Fr Francis D’Souza.
