Davanagere : The Davanagere JMF Court has issued an arrest warrant for the Karnataka state Excise Minister M.P.Renukacharya and 6 others on Saturday, March 9th 2013.
The Court was hearing a case pertaining to violating the norms during the last assembly elections.
The District Court has issued the arrest warrant to M.P.Renukacharya concerned to the charges of violation of Election codes in the 2008 assembly election.
Renukacharya contested for the assembly elections from Davanagere constituency in the April 2008 polls. It was alleged that he had distributed sarees as well as money to lure the voters of his constituency during the elections.
distribution of money and materials to lure the voters is in violation of election rules. Since Renukacharya violated the rules, a case was filed against him.
The Davanagere District Court heard the case petition, and on Saturday (March 9th 2013) the Court issued the arrest warrant for the excise Minister Renukacharya as the charges against him were proved.
The Court also issued warrants for 6 other people who have helped the Minister in the poll code violation.
