Mangaluru : The unique art works exhibition ‘Art Flash’ inaugurated at the Dhyana Mandira of Sharada Educational Institutions here on February 6, Friday.
Sharada Educational Institutions President Prof M B Puranik inaugurated the exhibition and stressed on the need to nurture the talents of amateur artists.
Thermo foam art, oil paintings, pencil drawings, charcoal works, pen dotted works, nib paintings, glass paintings, plaster of Paris works exhibited at ‘Art Flash’.
The unique thing about the expo was that all these were created by the students of the institution. As many as 150 artworks explored vivid capabilities and artistic temperament of the little artists.
Yakshagana headgear, flowerpot, models of ship, flowers and other decorative items such as wall hangings prepared of thermo foam, drew the attention of onlookers.
Combination of triangles, half circles an straight lines are used to create most of the images. At the expo, the art was depicted on paper by students.
Art teacher Sathyanarayana said that the artifacts, drawings and paintings were all created by students. Many of these were done as a part of classroom activity during the current academic year from June till date. Also, students themselves have arranged the art works in the hall, he added.
Sharada High School Principal Sunitha V Madi, P U College Principal Dayananda Kateel and art teacher Suresh K Pandavarakallu was present.
