Mangaluru : Art Kanara Trust in association with S-Cube Art Gallery is presenting its 19th event in its Art Insight series with an exhibition of paintings by visual artist Veeresh Rudraswami from Bagalkot. The exhibition is being held from October 5 to 12, 2024, at the Kodialguthu Center for Art and Culture, GG Road, Ballalbhag, Mangaluru. His distinctive style of work depicts surrealism and life-work relationship.
The inauguration ceremony on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 6:00 PM was graced by Benet G. Amanna, former member of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy and Architect M. Venkatesh Pai of Pailands Associates, Mangalore.
During his address, Veeresh Rudraswami spoke about his artistic journey and inspirations. “I have traveled from a small village to a big city like Bangalore, and then returned to my roots. My experiences and the hardships I’ve faced have deeply inspired my art,” he said. He further shared that his artwork is personal, leaving room for individual interpretations.
Architect Venkatesh Pai praised Veeresh’s efforts and the unique nature of his work, saying, “Veeresh has overcome many challenges in life, and this is clearly reflected in his art. I hope his efforts gain the recognition they deserve and help him overcome future challenges as well.”
Benet Amanna reflected on the historical significance of art and said, “Art gives us a window into the times in which it was created. Just like the preserved photographs from the late 1800s and early 1900s at the Basel Archives, I believe Veeresh’s works will offer our audience a similar wealth of insight.”
Deekshith R. Pai of Art Kanara Trust anchored the programme and introduced the guests. The exhibition is open daily from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM until October 12, with free admission for all.
