Mangalore : Nearly 10 students who were shortlisted from 100 finalists were awarded special prizes in the ‘Art of Fighting Malaria’ contest organized by Medicines for Malaria Venture of Geneva. The month long event organized by the Centre for Integrated Learning, KMC, Dakshina Kannada District Health Department and Mangalore City Corporation, concluded on November 2, Friday.
Dr M V Prabhu, Dean of KMC, delivered the key-note address. Diana Cotran, Executive Vice President (Operations), MMV Geneva also spoke.
Students of Infant Jesus Joyland School, Mangalore presented a skit and dance performance.
Dr P V Venugopal, Advisor of World Health Organization, distributed the prizes to the winners including Akash Shetty, Dhwithi Rai, Rajalakshmi, Shubham, Suraj and Vasudha.
Dr Shantaram Baliga, head of department of pediatrics, KMC, Sachitha Nandagopal, Executive Director of Centre for Integrated Learning and others were present on the occasion.
