Bantwal : An ASHA worker and panchayat president was attacked by a family on Sunday, May 10 at Abyanta in Kukkipadi village, Bantwal taluk.

It is said, the family performed a witchcraft attempt at the village.

The local ASHA worker on learning of such a session and the presence of a large number of people there reported it to the village task force and the gram panchayat president Yogesh Acharya.

The witchcraft performer Vishwanath Achar’s son attempted to attack Yogesh Acharya and later Vishwanath’s wife too threatened the panchayat president.

Yogesh registered a complaint at the Punjalakatte police station. Police later arrived at the spot and detained Vishwanath.
