Bantwal: The Vittla police arrested the accused in connection with the assault on a driver on Bharat bandh day.

Jagga alias Jagadish, a resident of Mani, is the arrested.

During the recent Bharat Bandh, Jagadish had attacked a pickup driver at Mani on Bengaluru-Mangaluru national highway. The victims were admitted to a Puttur hospital, informed the police.

Vittla police had registered a case regarding this.

Jagadish was arrested on a farm near Mani and was produced before the court for further action, the police added.
