Bangalore : Karnataka Legislative Assembly was today adjourned for the day amidst slogan shouting by ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members to protest price hike on petrol and other essential commodities
As soon as the House assembled, the ruling party members tried to attract the attention of Speaker K G Bopaiah by holding placards to protest price hike and demanded the House be adjourned.
Undaunted by their protest, the Speaker said he would hold the Question Hour and began calling the names of members.
The Treasury Bench, in a loud voice, protested leading the Speaker to adjourn the House for half an hour.
When the House re-assembled, the Treasury Bench members led by former minister Shobha Karandlaje and others again held placards and shouted slogans against the Central Government.
