Mangalore : On the charges of committing atrocity against three persons, four years ago, the third JMFC Court issued a non-bailable warrant against former Sub Inspector of Mangalore Rural Police Prakash.
The court has also ordered to collect personal bond of Rs 10,000 from him.
It is recalled that, Prakash had summoned Joel Vas, his father Justin Vas and Gangadhar, a residents of Adyarpadavu near Neermarga to police station over a land dispute case on January 2, 2010.
During the interrogation, Prakash had subjected the trio to atrocity and had also forcibly removed their pubic hair and registered false cases against them.
Tortured by Prakash, the trio had approached the State Human Rights Commission and a case was filed against Prakash as per the report submitted by DCP Ramesh. As per the complaint, Prakash was ordered to compensate Rs 25,000 each. But, Prakash instead of compensating the trio had filed a writ petition in the court but failed to appear in the court for hearing. On August 28, Thursday, the court issued a non-bailable warrant against him since he failed to appear in the court the particular date too.
