Mangaluru : The Mangalore Diocese organised a demonstration condemning attacks on Christians reported across the country. The protest was held in front of the DC’s office on Friday, March 27.
Addressing the gathering activist Nelson Monis said it was unfortunate that a community that has stood for communal harmony and that worked for the literacy of the masses are subject to attacks.
“The more we are attacked, the stronger we will be,” he said.
Mr. Monis criticised Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Mohan Bhagwat for accusing Mother Teresa of religious conversion.
Another activist Roman Lobo said all they pray for was change of mind of the persons attacking Christians and damaging places of worship. The demonstration was held before the office of the Deputy Commissioner.
He also said, the christians are tagged and accused of conversion. If we observe closely, we can see that these continuous attacks on churches are taking place from past two months. If we contemplate on this, we can understand that there is a planned strategy behind this.
