Mangaluru: Railway department, Mangaluru City Corporation, NHAI and Local governance bodies should join hands and should coordinate with each other to solve the problems related railway here in Maangaluru, said MP Naleen Kumar.
In a meeting held at ZP Office on Friday, he said that there should not be any delay in performing and completing of the undertaken project.
“We are trying to upgrade the Mangaluru Central Railway Station to world level. When Union Railway Minister arrives to Mangaluru we will hold talk hold with him regarding the same.
Approximately 100 acres of land is available in the Central railway Station, but proper survey is yet to be done. As soon as he survey work gets completed, I will do the work of getting permission from the Central government within one month,” he said.
Railway Officials said that the authority have requested the MCC to provide 4 lakh litres of water to the station, but till now there is no proper water supply is done by the MCC.
As a reply to this MP asked the MCC officials that if the situation is like this in the rainy season itself, then what will you do during summer?
Many organisation leaders urged that the connecting road to the station is not maintained properly. There are lots of pits in middle of the road.
Answering to this railway official said that tender for the road is already given, the road will be constructed soon at the cost of Rs 32 lakh.
Further MP Naleen instructed the officials to provide 24 hours helpline, street lights to the road, proper ATM systems and students pass distribution, Thokkottu railway reservation counter, Kannada speaking coaching for the railway officials.
ZP President Meenakshi Shantigodu, CEO PI Shreevidhya, MCC Commissioner Muhammad Nazeer, Palghat railway DRM Harish Lalwani and others were present.
