Mangalore : The Regional Transport Authority has issued an order, revising autorickshaw fares in Dakshina Kannada district with effect from December 15.

As per the revised fares, the minimum fare for the first 1.5 kms will be Rs 20, followed by Rs 13 (for every three passengers) for every next one km travelled. The waiting charges are  free for the first 15 minutes and then 25 per cent of the fare for the next 45 minutes. There will be no luggage charge for luggages weighing upto 20 kg.  The luggage charges will be Rs 2 for every next 20 kg weighing luggage.

The auto fares  will be one and a half time higher than the prescribed fare between 10 pm to 5 am.

All autorickshaws should display the revised auto fare list in the auto. The meters will have to be adjusted to the new rates within the next 30 days.

 All autorickshaw drivers in the district should mandatorily have fare meter or digital fare meter and should charge the passengers in accordance to the meter rate.
