Mangalore: Autorickshaws in Mangalore will be off the roads from 10.30 am to 2 pm on May 25, Friday to prevail upon the district administration to provide   more autorickshaw stands in the city.

Speaking to media persons, Ivan D’Souza, President of Mangalore City Autorickshaw Drivers’ Association said drivers will also take out a padayatra  from Urvastores to Deputy Commissioner’s office that day at 10.30 am followed by a protest meet at 1 pm. Enroute to the DC office, the drivers will also stage a protest before the MCC office.

Ivan D’Souza said though the government has so far notified only 75 autorickshaw stands despite identifying over 350 locations for autorickshaw parks.
