New Delhi: It is a week since the Ayodhya verdict has come out like a Dove of Peace, bubbling with religious sentiments from the Lucknow benches of 3 Judges. One of them, Dharam Vir Sharma, has retired from service on superannuation. A stay order seeking “out of Court” settlement was dismissed with costs.
But the Sunny Wakf Board is not quite pleased, though not put out by the verdict, which has given it one third of the disputed area (about 0.92 acres) on a platter. While Hindus of Ram Mandir and Nirmoli Akhada may cooperate with each other, Sunny Wakf Board is heading for an appeal to Supreme Court in the matter of dividing the 2.77 acres of disputed land in 3 parts. It has clearly stated on Tuesday that it was not interested in an “out of Court” solution to the historic problem on hand. In an emergency meeting on Tuesday Wakf chairman Jafer Ahmed Farooq spoke of consulting legal experts and deciding to make an appeal to Supreme Court on the issue, which could drag on now.
The Hindus have not shown a will power to solve the issue on a given basis after the long delayed verdict spring on them. The Muslims are taking their own time to dissociate from building the Rama Mandir that now gains more meaning after Ram Janam Bhoomi has been identified by the Lucknow bench of UP High Court.
