Mangaluru: Lenders how harassing to the people, here is an example. A 28-year-old man who guessed to be ended his life by jumping into the river from Netravati bridge near here after parking his motorbike on the bridge, has been found at Shimogga.
But nobody seen or said he jumped from bridge, only rumors spread after he parking his bike near Netravati bridge.
Praveen Saphalya (28), resident of Kurnadu near Mudipu who had reportedly faked his suicide as he was unable to repay debt. In order to avoid harassment by the money lenders he parked his vehicle near Netravathi bridge to make it appear that he jumped into the river.
Fire brigade personnel, policemen and expert divers had undertaken intensive search operation for him in the river but failed to find him or his body.
Praveen after learning that his family members though he was dead, called them and informed them that he was fine and was staying at a relative’s house in Shimoga.
He was working as salesman for SLRK Limited. He was reportedly deep in debt. Being unable to face the harassment of his creditors, he had parked the bike on the bridge before leaving for Shimogga, it is said.
