Belthangady: The Ayurvedic treatment system of “Ayush Chikitsa” is prevalent 10 districts, but it will be extended to Government hospitals in 19 other districts as an out-patient “ treatment ward” form under Government permission soon, said Dr. D.V. Heggade on Thursday night(November 10) in the Dharmasthala Mahotsava Hall, while speaking in a felicitation function organised by the staff members of Shantivana Trust on its being conferred Rajyotsava 2011 award, accepted by Dr.Heggade.
The Trust has 500 beds in Dharmsthala and Udupi for naturopathy treatment, it will begin hospital work in Bangalore by June, with priority for genuine research in this form of treatment. Yoga programmes will be extended all over the state. Over1000 yoga teachers have been trained to teach yogic lessons to children.
S. Marappa and Naturopathy doctor Naveen also spoke. Hemavathi Heggade, Supriya Kumar, D. Harshendra Kumar, Prof. Dr. Prashant Shetty of Ujire College were present.
