Mangalore: On greeting the citizens of Mangalore for the ensuing New Year 2014 on Dec.26 Thursday, senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary at a press conference in DKCC office, condemned what had happened at Deralakatte where a gang of 8 Muslims blackmailed a boy and girl of an unnamed university for ransom money. He appreciated the act of DK police in jailing 8 Muslim gangsters within 2 days, after health minister Khader had instructed the ACP to catch the culprits.
Poojary noted that the number of crimes taking place in DK and Udupi where on the upswing in the last few months, with unbearable atrocities against young female students. He repeated his spect remark that all women were adorable and should be respected by young and old of all religions and communities.
He criticized BJP and its organizing secretary Narendra Modi of Gujarat by saying a hundred Modis could not finish off the congress party and that BJP would be the looser in 2014 if it wanted the end of the so called ‘Nehru Gandhi family ruled’ in India he added that he would continue to contest next election without the fear of BJP, as the congress candidate in DK he reminded all voters that he had served as MP earlier and as a deputy minister of finance of finance as well, in raising the living standards of the common working class people.
He hoped that the ruling congress party in Bangalore would continue to serve the people diligently and utilize the police forces to fight crimes at all levels in all communities of the coastal region.
