Bangalore: The political secretary to former CM Yeddyurappa, who continued with present CM DVS Gowda as well, so long, namely B.J. Puttaswamy, (BJP for short) has been expelled from BJP, for his audacity to contest for Rajya Sabha seat as fourth candidate, now independent.
He was removed from primary membership of BJP on Monday.
K.S. Eshwarappa made the statement on BJP’S ouster last night. Puttaswamy has been kept out of special invitees ‘list for backward classes, as well.
So B.J. Puttaswamy is no longer in BJP officially, and loses his powerful job close to CM besides.
Eshwarappa recognised only Basavaraja Patil Sedum, a Senior party leader, and Ramakrishna, a retired Andra IAS cadre officer, as two candidates, likely too be elected to Rajya Sabha unopposed.
The ouster of BJP is a reminder to the boisterous BJP ex-CM, and former Supremo, B.S. Yeddyurappa, to rain himself in, or face consequences when he is threatening party bigwigs with ultimatums for action, to re-instate him when his hands are still dirty.
On Monday, B.J. Puttaswamy had come alone to Vidhana Soudha file his nomination and embarrass the ruling BJP group, held together by CM and KS Eshwarappa now.
Notices went to ten BJP MLAs who had backed Puttaswamy nomination on papers, before the returning officer. One of them, Limbavali, has retracted his support on Tuesday.
