Gurpur: A meeting was called at Gurpur –Kaikamba on Sunday afternoon by section of congressmen, led by DKCC senior leader B Janardhana Poojary who was about to criticize his own party leaders, there was a stir created by a group of about 30 SDPI activists disguised as congressmen but suddenly shouting slogans against Poojary and other congress leaders like V S Ugrappa, Ivan D’souza, Mamata Gatty, Vijaykumar Shetty, Moidin Bava (MLA), Gurpur block president R K Prithviraj, Mithun Raiand others.

Poojary wanted to speak about his concern for the poor people and than criticize the ruling congress state Govt. for not being brave to arrest Dr. Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat and other BJP leaders for their inflammatory speeches at Vajradehi Math in Gurpur only last week.

Suddenly the SDPI members showered slogans against B Janardhan Poojary and other congress leaders creating general embarrassment among the crowds gathered to hear the several congress leaders on by one.

The SDPI men rushed to the dais and created trouble by shouting down B Janardhana Poojary when he was talking about the serious conditions of the poor people in society due to pries inflation and no remedial measures taken by the state so far. There was a mob action about take place when local police intervened to prevent to a violent battle between two groups and the congress leaders could not carry on with their Sunday program any more.
