Bangalore: Bellary rural MLA B. Sriramalu has undertaken a journey on foot to move through drought-affected Talukas in Karnataka, and has completed a distance of 940km walking and covering many dry districts where cattle had no green fodder or pasture, and rural families had no drinking water, and workers went out of hometowns to seek employment even in coastal districts.
The farmers were facing untold hardship in different circum-stances, as the ruling BJP Govt had engaged only in internal quarrels at the expense of rural suffering.
Even rivers and tankbeds were dry. There was no water to irrigate land, and power cuts were in force. This grim situation led to “same kind of life” for all citizens and B. Sriramalu was its messenger, on his new movement towards people.
He was accompanied on tour, by Bellary MP and sister Shanta and brother, also MP (Sanna Fakirappa).
Several BJP MLAs also went with them to gain firsthand Knowledge, and comfort the people in their distress due to drought disease.
Actress Rakshitha also joined the camp walk. B. Sriramalu. Appears to have outwitted senior BJP leaders state congress leaders, and Sonia G., in meeting common people when they most needed him for comfort ruling circles.
B. Sriramalu is sure to gain popular favour over B. S. Yeddyurappa, G. Parameshwara, and ruling BJP ministers, in strengthening his BSR party with poor, uncared left out, rural folks and helpless farmers, to score a win in next state elections.
B. Sriramalu is on firm ground, in the absence of Reddys to help him.
