Bengaluru : “Life is very important. If we live then we can continue our livelihood”, said Revenue Minister Mr R Ashoka. The minister who arrived in the city from Delhi participated in a special programme where he distributed environment friendly Ganesha idols and also offered bagina to women at various places in Padmanabhanagar constituency on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ashoka said, “We have given permission to organise Ganesha festival. The Gowri and Ganesha festival symbolizes brotherhood. Though we wanted to organise the festival in a big way, Covid pandemic has put the brakes on. I hope that Covid will subside soon so that we can organise the festival in a bigger way next year. In case, if more than one organiser wants to organise Ganeshotsav in a ward, they need to seek permission from the jurisdictional police inspector and AEE. It is also sad to note that Congress is trying to politicise the issue.”
He also said that arrangements have been made at Yediyur Lake for safe immersion of Ganesha idols. Besides Yediyur, arrangements have been made at 12 lakes as well for the safe immersion.
