Mangaluru: J.R. Lobo, Mangaluru South MLA, recently said Bairadikere, off Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway near Padil, will get walking tracks and lights soon.
Speaking after inspecting rejuvenation works of the tank here, Mr. Lobo said the Minor Irrigation Department and Mangaluru Urban Development Authority have already sanctioned ₹80 lakh and ₹2.2 crore respectively for the development works.
He said work on building the retaining wall for the tank by Minor Irrigation Department has already commenced. MUDA would undertake other development works to make Bairadikere a tourist attraction by providing various facilities, including a walking track, a park and lights, the MLA said.
Mr. Lobo said he has taken up the rejuvenation of tanks in the constituency on top priority not only to conserve the environment, but also to improve the health of general public in the localities.
