Mangalore : The Bajpe police have nabbed 3 people in connection with a Sunkadakatte house theft and have confiscated the stolen properties from the arrested.
The accused are Chethan of Padu Peraru, Krishna Bilayi, and Bachu Mandal of Bengal were brought at the Mangalore police commissioner’s office on April 1, Sunday.
Reportedly, thieves had entered Saroja’s house and tied her niece Geetha to steal the valuables worth Rs. 10 lakh.
Speaking at the press meet, Commissioner Seemanth Kumar said that this case was sensational since it took place in the residential area during daylight.
He also appreciated the police officers for cracking the case. He also thanked Tilak Chandra, the circle inspector of Pandeshwar; Dinakar Shetty, the Bajpe SI; and SI Ananth Murudeshwar and his team.
Accused Chethan led the theft who is a local person and has several cases booked against him. His assistants are from West Bengal.
On the occasion, owner of the property Saroja Salian handed over a reward of Rs. 25,000 to Dinakar Shetty and his team and Rs. 2000 to the special branch constable for solving the case.
