Mangalore: A group of Bajrang Dal activists coming to know of transportation of cattle for slaughter in Kudroli, waited in early hours of Tuesday at Ladyhill circle, where the road branches off to Kudroli, and seized a cattle-laden carrier vehicle, around down ,to face 5 armed gangsters with weapons in their nefarious blood-curdling activities.
There were about 25 Bajrangi boys on prior information, who stopped the speeding vehicle, only to see in wonder that the 5 armed Muslims going to a slaughter house, running away to disappear like cowards, with their knives.
The Bolero pick-up was seized and the cattle was freed at Barke police station. There were 10 cows, two buffaloes and 5 calves, totaling 17 silent animals facing definite slaughter, but saved on time by the brave Hindu youths, who told the police that it was an illegal transportation attempted by misguided persons.
The Barke police took change of the cattle and the vehicle into which the poor animals were huddled like boxes.
The Barke police registered a case against those who ran away with their weapons, leaving cattle and the carrier on the crossroads.
