Belthangady : Balakrishna Poojary , the driver of a Bolero van that dashed against a cyclist ( Dinesh Gowda -23) and killed him before running away from the place due to fear of lynching by angry crowds that damaged his van, was caught by the Belthangady police at 5 pm in the evening after a hunt for him.

This dramatic development has brought some satisfaction among the local people. Dinesh Gowda’s Body was sent to Govt. Wenlock Hospital on Nov.20th by an Ambulance that had to wait to carry him due to people objecting to remove the body until poojary was caught.

The deceased Dinesh Gowda is stated to be a close friend of Mahesh shetty Timarodi of Praja Prabhutva Vedike in Belthangady.

The driver of Bolero Van Balakrishna poojay who is in police custody now has been booked by Belthangady (Nekkilu ) police under 279 ( Rash driving ) and Murder (sn. 302) at the instance of Siddappa Gowda of Koyyur who complained to the police on the road accident.
