Mangaluru: II additional district and sessions court judge granted conditional bail to Shailesh, who is among the seven people arrested in RTI activist Vinayak Baliga murder case, on Tuesday.

Shailesh alias Shailu (40), driver by a profession was arrested by the police on May 17. It is alleged that Shalesh’s help was taken as a driver, to escape from the spot after the murder.

He was in judicial custody since his arrest. He had filed a petition under Section 439 of the Criminal Procedure Code on June seeking bail. The hearing of his petition was held on Tuesday, July 19.

According to the preliminary report filed by the police, Shailesh, Srikant and Naresh Shenoy devised a plan to murder RTI activist Vinayak Baliga using the help of Shivaprasad, vinit poojary and Nishit Devadiga.

Previously another accused photographer Manju Nileshwara had got bail. Shailesh is the second person to come out with a bail in this particular case.
