Baliga murder case: sixth accused held

SrikanthMangaluru : The Mangaluru City police have arrested Srikant (42) of Kavoor for his alleged involvement in the murder of 51-year-old RTI activist Vinayak Baliga.

With this the police have so far arrested six persons.

Vinayak Baliga was hacked to death near his house in Kodialbail on March 21.

The police have already arrested Vineet Poojary, Nishit Devadiga, Shiva alias Shivaprasad, Shailesh (40) and K. Manjunath Shenoy alias Manju Neereshwalya (39).

In a press release, the police said special teams have been formed to trace Naresh Shenoy, Srikant and other accused persons who are reportedly absconding.

Srikant was traced by the team headed by Police Inspector Ravish Nayak in Mulky.

The police have accused Srikant of mediating between Shenoy and the three arrested persons, who were hired for murder of Baliga.
