Mangaluru, : The state government has decided to naming the road from Balmatta Canara Bank circle to Karavali circle at Bendoorwell after him for his services to the society, informed JR Lobo, MLA of Mangaluru South here on Monday, March 9.

Speaking to the reporters at the District Congress Office lobo said, the naming of the road is to be officialy announced soon. The DC, MCC officials, Police commissioner and the Congress party had noted his dedication to society and chosen his name to the remembrance, he said.

He had served for the congress party as District Congress President for several years and he served as Mangaluru City Council Member between 1962 to 1979 and was elected as its president for two terms. He also the Founder of Mangaluru Wildlife Trust and Governing Council Member of Fr Muller Charitable Institution.

Blasius M D’Souza was a former labour and law minister in the congress government he also elected as and MLC. As a congress leader he served for many years. Lobo thanked to the government, those who supported the cause. He added.

Rohit, son of Blasius  D’Souza, Kavita, deputy mayor, T K Sudhir and others were present.
