Mangalore:  The High School Department of the Government Pre-University Women’s College at Balmatta is the only school in Mangalore block which registered 100 per cent results in SSLC examination. The school faculty was honoured for the great efforts put in to train its students, at a function held at the school premises under the auspices of the DK District unit of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat.

Captain Ganesh Karnik, MLC and Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President, were also felicitated on the occasion.

In his address, Capt Karnik exhorted the students to excel in the fields of their choice and come up on the social front too on par with their academic performance.

Pradeep Kumar Kalkura has said the cent per cent results registered by the school has dispelled the general notion that only English medium students can excel.

Vinoda P, Headmistress of the school said she was simply delighted by the stupendous performance of her students.
Yogish Bhat, Deputy Speaker, presided over the function. Vasudeva Kamath, Principal of the PU College, Dayavathi, Block Education Officer and others were present on the occasion.
