Mangalore: It has been reliably learnt that the Mangalore City Corporation would soon be implementing a new rule banning spitting in public places.
The MCC has plans to impose fine on anyone found spitting in public. The plan will be placed forth the next MCC meeting. Once approved, it will be sent to the government for its nod.
The plans are to slap a penalty of Rs 100 under the provisions of the Karnataka Municipal Act of 1976. The move comes under a series of other proposed plans under the ‘Nirmal Mangalore’ by-laws. Even littering and urinating in public places will attract fines under these laws.
MCC authorities strongly feel that the plans to have a clean and beautiful city can be achieved only when steps are taken in t he above direction.
