Bangalore: A Bharti Airtel Festival in every extension and nook/ corner of Bangalore city from Jan.14 to 29 (a fortnight) is envisaged by dancers Nandini Alva and companion Padmini Ravi of Aristes’ Foundation for Arts (AFFA), to honour Makara Sankranti (Uttarayana) solar turn , with a huge Bangalore Festival through cinema, arts, stagecrafts, music, dances and stitch works etc., it was revealed by them in a press meet here. Local artistes, painters and dancers will get all opportunities to show their skills and training in expressive ways. Seminars will be organised between artistes and art lovers for a two-way communion. Several art galleries will fill up with arts shows.
Over 1000 local and foreign artistes will participate in stage shows. Among participants, are Pty. Shivkumar Sharma (santoor), Kadri Gopalnath (saxophone), Ravikiran (film music), and Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam (classical dances) and many others.
Street plays in Malleshwaram(J.18 to 21), music in IT parks (J28), Final concert at Palace grounds on J.29 by Kailash Kher have been arranged. 12 films will be shown on large screen in 4 areas of the city, organizers informed from Airtel.
