Bantwal : JD(S) candidate from Bantwal Krishnappa Poojari has hurled a serious allegation against former coastal development authority chairman and former JD(S) leader Nagaraj Shetty.
Speaking to reporters here, Poojari alleged Shetty had demanded Rs 2 crore from JD(S) state chief HD Kumaraswamy for joining the party. But Kumaraswamy had tactfully dealt the situation by asking Shetty to first organize the party. Pointing out that the JD(S) workers feel the exit of Shetty was for good, he said Shetty’s exit is also considered a good move.
JD(S) District Vice-President Mohommad Shafi said in the upcoming Assembly elections, there would be a triangular contest between Congress, BJP and JD(S) and added JD(S) enjoyed much popularity. He also charged the Congress and BJP of using money and muscle power to win elections.
